ELVIS IS ALIVE. AND HE'S UP TO RELEASE NUMBER TWO...
It's an approach Tommy Four Seven and fellow label act James Kronier call '60s techno' - the art of finding the perfect balance between the machine and the human.
The music is, as DJ mag says, "hypnotic ... seething ... edgy" and the DJ support ranges from Laurent Garnier to Oliver Ho, Groove Rebels to Mihalis Safras, David Squillace to Ewan Pearson, Mike Monday to Joel Mull.
And the label is SHOOTING ELVIS, a lantern-eyed alien staring curiously at all this earthling fuss.
What's the balance? It was a twitchy kind of human on Shooting Elvis's first release, Strix - out March 17 on vinyl through Neuton and with reactions like "Wow" (Chloe), "Excellent" (Ewan Pearson, and "F**king great" (Perc). And release two, Contact, is just as spacey, if a little less jagged. Just into promo now, it's an original with a tougher Mark Broom remix that's been again called "F**king great", this time by Laurent Garnier, as well as "Excellent" - Oliver Ho. "ACE!" - TG. And "Massive" - Monoroom.
