The reviews and gigs have been amazing - for both sides of King Roc's music.
As a solo artist, he's just released a critically acclaimed debut CD, Chapters. DJ mag gave it three pages, calling it "arrestingly beautiful - album of the month". In Germany, De:bug magazine said the album is "Dance music coming of age - an art-house opera", Keys magazine shouted "GRAB IT!" and Lodown called King Roc "the forward thinking mastermind of 21st century club music". Data Transmission says Chapters is "an absolute success and a future classic," M8 "a revelation" and IDJ "timeless" and "perfect for the afterhours - 10/10".
Alongside this, King Roc's also kept up his work as half of wildly successful deep-house and techno duo Two Armadillos. This week he and partner Giles Smith hit #1 on the Beatport deep house chart, and their music has had raves from DJs from Ben Watt to Agoria to Raresh to Tiefschwartz to Shinedoe. Coming up: more remixes and original releases on 2000 and One's label Bang Bang, Guido Schneider's Motivbank and STHLM Audio - all out before May.
Contact Elite for bookings for King Roc's new live set as well as DJ sets. And check out The Beginning, a video collaboration with Drunkpark and the lead single from Chapters - now out with Alex Kenji and Jericho dub remixes, and further remixes from Darko Esser, D-Nox and Beckers, Clouded Vision and the fantastic Abe Duque coming down the track, as well as return remix of Abe by King Roc ...
