Announcing the VVWI Limited Love Orchestra - first gig at matter Nov 7

In the tradition of The Bays, Jamie Lidell, 2020 Soundsystem and other on-the-fly electronic musical creators, the VVWI Limited Love Orchestra features tracks created by musicians playing MIDI instruments, live looping and FX, with no pre-recorded material, no lipsyncing. All sweat, no sleight of hand.

The label scoured the phlegmatic wilds of the north of england - specifically, the Leeds College of Music, one of Europe's premier classical and studio seats of musical learning - to create a four-man MIDI masterpiece of great digital fluidity. With tracks built up on the fly, It's impossible to tell when the DJ ends and the band begins, with all sounds played live by the jazz hands of... "

Craig "The Machine" West.
Keyboards and Digital controls. Craig is a teacher of technology, studio producer and Alumni of The esteemed LCM. The Machine is the backbone of the operation. All leads lead to his station where he collects the given notes and spits them back out, warped and weirded. Present projects include HOTSAND with leeds based DJ Mundros, with releases on retweak, midnight recordings, Bops and VVWI.

Emlyn Vaughan.
Master of all matters Bass. Another LCM Alumni , Emlyn is a respected session player and will handle upright, bowed, electric and keyboard operated Bass. Sometimes all during one track. He's worked in theatre productions and musicals, also in studio sessions for TV and film. Played in original projects with Dave O'Higgins and Gilad Atzmon, and has played at many festivals including the London Jazz Festival, Koktebel Jazz Festival (Ukraine), Herten (Germany). Current projects include The Evil Mambo Band (Dirty Disco) with co-producer Lee J Malcolm (Vessels) and Critical Mass (modern jazz quartet).

Robert Lavers.
Paris based Rob is the most experienced member and again, highly esteemed as a musical gun for hire and sometime tutor at LCM. His FX'd Sax of Alto and Soprano as well as Flute and Oboe is the crucial solo element. It will certainly shock and amaze that such traditional instruments can produce such unexpected sounds when digitised, effected and looped. Rob's achievements are too long to list here so for the full scoop on this maestro check his site at : http://roblavers.co.uk/

Tim Sheridan.
VVWI founder and chief songwriter. Tim will be heading the group which will be performing his previously released material . His Tom Waites-esque sense of absurd theatre and dour Mark. E Smith vocal styles - not to mention a long live music history that includes ToTP appearances and top 10 charting hits all (surprisingly) performing live. He has performed with many bands and musicians over the years including Marc Ribot (Tom Waites Band) Andy Gangadeen (The Bays) Jerry Dammers and many of the Acid Jazz bands of the early 90's. The L.L.O will be supplemented with his classically trained skills on MIDI piano and electronic kit of drum.

We most cordially invite you to come experience electronic music, performed live, by musicians, alongside Trentemoller and other mighty kings of electronica on the 7th November upon the main stage of Matter London.

No more need be said.

The first is Tim's new single, Villain, inspired by the 1960's film of the same name starring Richard Burton. With Tim Sheridan's classical-music background and his trademark grand piano and orchestral stabs, it's a dark and fluid number in the spirit of the murky East End gangland tale that inspired it (and a great remix from Max Cooper). And also this week on Sat 27, the label will headline London's Matter - BIG!"

"Being an avant gardener" - Tim Sheridan on Data Transmission ahead of the Matter gig...

Yes he's been interviewed to fuck on any dance music site or mag worth its disco salt, but fact of the matter is that VeryVeryWrongIndeed don Tim Sheridan has always got something interesting to say/rant/get off his chest. Now with the VVWI label as well established as its sporadic parties, the brand name is a global phenomenon, and despite his many years in the game, Tim is solely dedicated to discovering new, unknown talent and giving it a leg-up.

We caught up with him ahead of a recent gig in Liverpool. What could we possibly say that might rile him?

Tim Sheridan chart on Juno

My first fisherprice attempt at a Juno chart. Most of the tunes chosen are old as I tend to work with my label's tracks mostly these days. Look out for Adrian Martin of Zurich. Ace. It's a bit of a cheat as I don't buy new stuff anymore (due to the label providing my sets) but I do like a nice ogle on Juno to keep abreast.

The latest VVWI release is inspired by the 1960's film starring Richard Burton. With Tim Sheridan's classical-music background and his trademark grand piano and orchestral stabs, it's a dark and fluid number - in the spirit of the murky East End gangland tale that inspired it.

As we think of it, cinematic-chase-soundtrack vibes for the discerning dancefloor. And this time round with a more direct remix by UK whizkid Max Cooper, whose Harmonisch Serie on Traum was a great VVWI favourite alongside his set of releases and remixes on Autist.

REACTIONS TO THE LAST TRACK ON VVWI, GHOSTS THAT LIVE IN HER

Gird your loins, pull up your sleeves and tuck that bloody shirt in

Spektre and Jesper Dahlback are among the special guests for veryverywrongindeed's first matter night

We most cordially invite you in celebration of this spectacle to :

The Grand All-Comers Remix Competition

Which offers chance to launch your production career and hear your own remix played out on the Room 1 system

matter welcomes Ibiza Free Party and Afterhours fanatic Tim Sheridan on Saturday June 27th, when he brings his notorious VVWI party to the venue for a night of determinedly demented debauch... coupled with the most rum, rug-cuttingly deep and wonky music that one can muster.

Joining Tim for one of his customary back-to-back sets will be europe's favourite wunderkinds and remixers de jour, techno duo Spektre, who
will throwdown with Tim for a full 3 hour session. They'll be joined by Jesper Dahlback - the Swedish producer-extraordinaire
recently enlisted by Tiga to help give his album that extra dancefloor punch, who makes his own debut appearance at matter that night.

matter resident Paul Woolford will also feature, with Circo Loco and Zombies Ate My Brain's Shane Watcha and Overload's
Biased Guy and Schadenfreude completing the line up, setting us up for a weirdo house and
techno tear up, with all the beastly atmosphere of the grimiest victorian warehouse raves.

Budding producers take note: to celebrate VVWI Recordings' matter debut, they've put together a
very special competition for you to get involved on the night. Sheridan will make available the parts to the next VVWI single Villain
through the label's website, inviting anyone who fancies
taking a crack at a remix to submit their efforts. Tim will then select the best for release
AND play the winning entry as part of his set at matter - while the remixer and up to 10 friends enjoy
hearing their effort resonating through the venue's unrivaled soundsystem from the comfort of their own VIP table.

Imagine the sheer peer arousal involved. Boggling.

Johnny Arthur - the Worst One Yet

<embed src="http://www.musiqube.com/player/playerMultipleList.swf" width="350" height="134" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"flashvars="playlistPath=http://www.musiqube.com/playlist2/OOLBRT43XQ2VKMVDRWR27XSY59HKVEL3&autoPlay=no" />

VVWI supports a lot of new producers, but in our view Johnny Arthur really is a star.

By age 24, he'd already played alongside the likes of Jennifer Cardini, Paul Woolford, Martin Landsky, Ellen Allien, Alex Smoke and Magda. His release Johnny Hates Jazz was chosen to launch the digital label for Cologne’s prolific MBF, and he's had his own DJ mag "gotta be big" feature - highlighting him as one of the UK producers who is seriously up-and-coming.

Now with his first release on VVWI, it's a track that verges on oldschool, and another far more contemporary...

Reactions

"Great ballsy techno vibes, ill play them for sure!"- Matt Walsh

"Two beauties here, cheers" - Nick Warren

"Love this! Full support!" - Style of Eye

"Love this release!! Will play both!" - Mistress De Funk

"Wow! great release. I love this label!"- Paul Hamill (BBC N.I.)

"The Worst One Yet...is a complete misnomer as this song is a corker!!!" - The POP! Stereo Blog

Tom Dazing's Wasp Cocktail - "You've got to get this release - M8"

BUY VINYL | DIGITAL

He's one of VVWI's secret weapons. Belgian producer Tom Dazing's fans include Hawtin, Wink, Gabriel Ananda, Seth Troxler, Dominik Eulberg, Marco Bailey, Ambivalent, Skoozbot, RedHead - and of course Andre Crom, who introduced Tom to us in the first place. He's only been releasing since 06 but he's already had several releases on Belgium's fantastic Toysforboys, as well as Coincidence, Heimatmelodie, Maison Digitale, MB Selektions, Aesthetik, Red Factory, and now Veryverywrongindeed.

It's called Wasp Cocktail EP after the acid lead track. But there's also Microstrip, a take on the jackin' sound that's just as rough and live-sounding as Dazing's live sets (which he describes as "forcing old-school drum elements into subtle, slinky grooves and all-out raving madness"). And then to reverse that, we've got a much darker, smoother and more electronic remix from Seirra Sam and Marcus Vector, the head honchos of Toysforboys (we told you it was good), as well as also between them having a residency at Tresor and running Contexterrior, TuningSpork, Nomor and Obsolete.

Now out: Spektre Live at Glade

SPEKTRE - LIVE AT GLADE OUT NOW
"2009 will belong to these two" - IDJ.

It's a festival set. A dark, razor-sharp four-hander of tracks, FX, edits and more FX again, dished out in a hot tent to crazed kids in the late evening of one of the sunniest days of this year. It was a great festival, Glade - sunshine, countryside, a crowd that's equal part hippies, kids, rave veterans and sun worshippers, with Jeff Mills headlining. And the cozy little Sancho Panza tent off to one side that on the Friday night hosted Veryverywrongindeed - Tim Sheridan playing back to back with Mr C for four hours, a killer set from Mike Monday, Josh Tweek and Frenchy warming up, and a live set bang in the middle by our UK techno duo, Spektre .

They've a group who've been quietly climbing the European electronic ladder for a while now. They have releases across Dance Electric, Rotary Cocktail, Dekadent Schallplatten, Heimatmelodie, Suruba, Noir , and of course Veryverywrongindeed . Not to mention Sven Vath hammering their track Hover at his NYE Cocoon party , and other fans from Hawtin to Dubfire to Mark Broom, Magda, Mike Monday, Holgi Star, Dave Shokh, Chloé, Format B, Andrew Grant, Phonogenic, Sebastian Roya and VVWI favourite Ludovic Vendi. And this album is a record of that Glade set - in the tent that IDJ described as the highlight of the festival . Twelve of their own tracks plus a lucky 13th, their own remix of Andre Crom. With the CD out today in all the wrong record stores, it's the first of a series of live CDs planned by Veryverywrongindeed to highlight up-and-coming producers ...

Tim Sheridan's VVWI freakshow continues

Tim Sheridan's Veryverywrongindeed label has had a big couple of months. Its most recent track, Tom Dazing's Wasp Cocktail, had Radio Slave calling it "modern psychedelic pyrotechics!" and M8 magazine saying "you have to buy this - 8/8". VVWI's previous release, Spektre's Live at Glade album, had IDJ saying "this duo will rule 2009" - with the mag also calling the tent put on by VVWI and Sancho Panza at Glade "the "highlight of that festival".

It's also been a big period for VVWI's ringmaster Tim Sheridan. In Ibiza, a back-to-back terrace set with Mr C on the Space terrace gave Danny Tenaglia his busiest night of an already rammed season at "Be Yourself" - so there'll be another Be Yourself / VVWI this year. There's a new VVWI coming in Leeds, and there's been a set of firsts as well - the first VVWI at Junk Club and Sheridan's first gig at Fabric's new club Matter. And there there's the upcoming residency at a lesbian club.

Why not?

Plus there's two new Tim Sheridan releases on the way...Villain, out May, and The Ghosts That Live In Her, which you can listen to below
LISTEN TO SAMPLES...

Original | King Roc mix | Andre Crom mix

And then the long-promised compilation. Tim's follow-up to the extraoradinarily successful Nastydirtysexmusic, this will be recorded live and drop soon after...

Bookings being taken now for the compilation tour. We have a mix - please email with requests.

REACTIONS FOR GHOSTS

"I could tell from the cover art this was going to be some sinister stuff. Does not disappoint!" - URB magazine.

"Great track" - Sebo K.

"Jaw-dropping" - IDJ.

PLEASE.. the tracks on your Myspace are SO good. May I have them?" - Dan Ghenacia.

New on VVWI: Spektre, live at Glade album sampler

It's a very English festival, Glade ... sunshine, a bunch of mad hippies, Jeff Mills headlining, and off to one side a cozy little Sancho Panza tent that on friday night hosted Veryverywrongindeed - Tim Sheridan playing back to back with Mr C for four hours, a killer set from Mike Monday, Josh Tweek and Frenchy warming up, and a live set bang in the middle by UK techno duo Spektre.

We're releasing that set as veryverywrongindeed's first CD in November - Spektre, Live at Glade. But in the meantime, here's a sampler of two of the cuts from the upcoming album.

Wetwired showcases the subby, naggingly hypnotic and narcotic side of the boys, with On a roll a much more driving, razor-sharp minimal techno cut. The album itself includes new versions of Spektre's own tracks on Heimatmelodie, Oliver Huntemann's Dance Electric, as well as tracks from Rotary Cocktail alongside their other releases on Suruba, UFO and Dekadent Schallplatten.

With support from the likes of Hawtin, Vath, Dubfire, Mark Broom, Magda, Mike Monday, Holgi Star, Dave Shokh, Chloé, Format B, Andrew Grant, Phonogenic, Sebastian Roya and VVWI favourite Ludovic Vendi - and this upcoming live album, whose recording was one of the highlights of a very wrong friday night at Glade - Spektre will be one of the key acts for VVWI in 2009...

VERYVERYWRONGINDEED RECORDS (uk) VVWI008

Two veryvery rocking tracks of sublime and twisted minimal techno from the masters of tech house wonk at Veryerywrongindeed records. ‘Wet Wired’ is the softer and quirkier of the two, a set filler that bubbles along nicely and is a dream to mess around with in the mix. ‘On a Roll’ is a thumping Plus 8 style techno track, rolling and funky with a pulsating bass and loads of neat fills… more of this please! **** K1.

Welcome to the freakshow

Sold out on vinyl, Freakshow is now out on Beatport. The bastard child of Tim Sheridan, Jon Carter and spoken-word poet Ferank Manseed, it's a perverse Victorian carnival-barker rant that's had raves from an amazingly wide range of DJs: Dan Ghenacia to Laurent Garnier to Chloe to Mr C, but also DJs like Billy Nasty, Ortzroka and DK7 ...

DJ mag, meanwhile, said "I think I saw that show at Manumission last year" and Ibiza Voice's rave review this week added...

"No other label describe themselves with such apt precision than Tim Sheridan's Veryverywrongindeed . Every track since their debut with Richard Seeley last summer has offered a unique sideways slant on today's sonic landscape. Ostensibly they're techno, but there's something else. Something you can't always put your finger on. Or, in the case of this particular VVWI release, put your finger in."

Buy it on beatport.

ALSO COMING UP ON THE LABEL...

A live CD from VVWI stars Spektre - recorded live at the Veryverywrongindeed night at the Glade Festival with Tim Sheridan, Mr C, Mike Monday, Frenchy and Josh Tweek.

... new 12"s from Tom Dazing, a Spektre launch sampler, a re-release of Andre Crom and Tigerskin's classic Notaufnahme and Tim Sheridan and King Roc's the Ghosts that live in her.

... And finally in Jan, Tim Sheridan will release the first VVWI compilation - his first DJ compilation since 'Nastydirtysexmusic' - which sold 17,000 CDs and was also one of the most successful nights ever held at Ministry of Sound. Send tracks for inclusion on the comp to a-and-r@veryverywrongindeed.com.

VVWI TOURS - COMING UP

VVWI's second Ibiza season this year starts Sep 11 with Tim Sheridan and
Mr C playing back-2-back with Danny Tenaglia at Be Yourself @ Space.

AUG 23 - VVWI @ Basics Bank holiday w Tim Sheridan
AUG 24 - Cancer Research festival
SEP 7 - East Village / Wish, London

IBIZA SEASON

Here comes the Freakshow...

With his next 12", the GRIM EP, out on vinyl in two weeks, Tim Sheridan is now gearing up for the followup, Freakshow, a collaboration with Jon Carter and spoken-word genius Ferank Manseed. The ringmaster of WRONG is ready to roll...

"The freakshow of fucked up peversion
... is a travelling show - an excursion
It's a trip to the depths of depravity.
The manic laughter..."

LISTEN: Freakshow (Tim Sheridan remix)

This one will be a rush release as we're not sure how long we can keep a lid on the vocal as soon as it gets into circulation, especially after the Tim's guest slot on KISS FM and the success of the last VVWI warehouse party - described by DJ mag as "another fine mess ... deliciously sideways ... we just can't get enough".

VVWI has been all over the Web as well, with Tim's leading his own special freakshow of Internet weirdos. There's an interview with Ministry of Sound Blog today about cynicism in the music industry. And check out Tim versus the Faith messageboard (245 replies, 17 pages of response, 8100 views) and Tim versus 4four (4 pages, 4000 views and 180 replies - about 4four times anything else around it on that board). His most recent interview on 4clubbers had some of the highest viewer numbers that board has seen, and the DSI piece for the VVWI warehouse party was the first ever DSI interview to give a DJ pic pole position over its own logo...

And then there's the release to follow Freakshow, a new collaboration with King Roc...

GHOSTS THAT LIVE IN HER:
Tim Sheridan v King Roc

"The track is great. Very unique. Full support! All the best from Berlin." - Sebo K.

"Brilliant. I looove it. Will play everywhere" - Laurent Garnier.

BOOK THE VERYVERYWRONGINDEED TOUR NOW. Already appeared: DC10, the End, Ireland, Switzerland, Canada, Italy and Spain. Tour includes Tim Sheridan back-to-back with at least one other veryverywrongindeed act - a list that ranges from dub KULT to Jo Mills to Mr C to Tom Dazing to Johnny Arthur to Andre Crom to new up-and-comers like Ibiza's Barbacoa...

Tim Sheridan on cynicism in the music industry - Ministry of Sound blog

I think I was a bit scared for a while, maybe 10 years, where all the hostility of the more leftfield element of the scene - the bitching and the fracturing of everything - it was a bit demoralising. It used to be a bit more fun, or maybe I was just younger! In the larger picture you have to make a living, not everyone is looked kindly on if they had some success in the past. So you have to reinvent yourself and win people over and that can take years. There is a lot of negativity to overcome. So I'll see how this goes...

Veryverywrongindeed 4: dub KULT's the fly / brave and afraid

Here's both sides of the Veryverywrongindeed MO: a tweaking dancefloor freakout WTF!? moment and an evocative, emotional take on vulnerability - lyrics and all. An explanation? Read the Tim Sheridan Faith messageboard posting.

And for what it's worth, the song was overheard and snapped up at an Ibizan villa party. dub KULT is one of the seven artists working with veryverywrongindeed - one of biggest UK wonky minimalists you've never heard of, having had a Groove top 10 as far back as 2003, and now releasing on Traum/Raum, Curle, Music Man, Signals, and working with the bassplayer of the Guillemots on new music...

VVWI DJs

VVWI DJs available include Mr C, Jo Mills, Mike Monday, King Roc, Andre Crom, Tom Dazing, Spektre, Jon Carter (outside London only), Shane Watcha, Josh Tweek, Richard Seeley, Adrian Martin. Most VVWI tour gigs involve Tim Sheridan playing back to back with another of the VVWI residents.

Label showcase mix by Richard Seeley.

TIM SHERIDAN on why he started VVWI: "Smokin’ Jo and I started a night about 6 years ago in Ibiza and musically I pushed for us to be as different to everyone else as possible. I played Breaks, House, Techno... anything that was a bit bottom heavy and made you do the “bulldog chewing a wasp face”. This was way before “Electro” which as you may remember, in it’s original slightly high fashion New York/German way, was quite extreme. A bit lo-fi and definitely not for dancing. By the time “Filthy Electro” was drummed up as an lunchtime tag by a bone idle and probably drug addled journalist we were at each other like Sonny and Cher and didn’t have an Electro record between us. People who care too much about all the wrong things in life were still debating sub-genres in murky cupboards when we'd knocked it all on the head. I mean, I called our thing NASTYDIRTYSEXMUSIC simple to knock up an imaginary genre specifically to avoid being pigeonholed. Same goes for VERYVERYWRONGINDEED. Does what it says on the tin. I could have gone for "ALLMYFAVOURITETUNESTHATYOURNOTSUPPOSEDTOPLAYINIBIZA" or "WONKYWEIRDORECORDSTHATCONFUSETHEFUCKOUTOFYOUSOBERNEVERMINDONKETAMINE" but you have to be descriptive AND snappy" (Faith messageboard Jan 08). Or there's his writings and myspace.

MR C International dj, innovative producer, founder of plink plonk , Shamen frontman and co owner of the end, Mr C emerged as a pioneering force in the house music scene in 1987 and has continued to be instrumental in the proliferation of dance music on a global scale. These days he records as Mr C, Sycophant Slags with Adultnapper from Dirt Crew / Audiomatique and under the names Myster-E, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amor, Mr C & Tom Parris, Killer Loop & as Mr C & 16B. His night Superfreq has now had four Ibizia seasons, including a blowout for Tim Sheridan's birthday at DC10 in Aug 07, and the club plays across Europe including Italy, Holland, Belgium, Lithuania, Latvia & Russia, as well as its Sunday residency at the End. NOTE: For Mr C solo bookings, contact ATB.

JO MILLS. An Ibiza legend and long term resident at Circo Loco, Jo's music history dates back to early days of Flying Records where she worked with Xpress2's Rocky and Mark Wilkinson. Playing clubs that are notorious, legendary, hedonistic and deeply respected for their music - Ibiza, London, Singapore or Sydney - Mills has been resident at nights from Space to DC10 to veryverywrongindeed to Tim Sheridan's earlier night Nastydirtysexmusic.

JON CARTER. Alongside Norman Cook, the Chemical Brothers and Andy Weatherall, he was one of the original residents of the Heavenly Social. He's remixed Felix da Housekatt, Luke Slater, U2, Manic Street Preachers, the Prodigy (with whom he also toured as a DJ), not to mention Selectah, 808 State and the West St Mob - and even the Beach Boys. Under his Junior Cartier alias he released a string of tracks including the pivotal "Women beat their men" and as part of live act the Monkey Mafia he supported Roni Size, Massive Attack and had a Mixmag album of the month. DJing? It's the best job I ever had, he says...

KING ROC. DJ mag put it succinctly - "2008 will be the year King Roc claims his crown," the magazine said in its wrap up of the top artists to watch in this year. It's partly his string of releases on Simple, Love Minus Zero, Playtime, but also his upcoming artist album, Chapters. Part Twin Peaks, part Pink Floyd, Chapters will mix music with visual art by Australian artist Seb Godfrey of Drunkpark. It's a new type of old-school concept album, taking in birth, death, and what drives people in the time between...

MIKE MONDAY. His first album, Smorgasbord, was "a classic," said One Week to Live. It was "album of the month", said IDJ - which also had Smorgasbord on "albums of the year" list. And "an LP we just can't put down", said DJ mag. That was the year he had a smash on Simple with Bhalobashi and a runaway hit in Berlin with What day is it? This year he's being remixed by Kruder and Dorfmeister, taking a headline slot at Sonar for Om, and his new album drops in May ...

ANDRE CROM. A string of releases on Leftroom, Sender, Memo and his own label Heimatmelodie have followed, but even Andre's first release was a smash. "Notaufnahme", a collaboration with Tigerskin on Liebe*Detail, was rated by Magda, Troy Pierce, Roman Flügel, Steve Bug and countless more, and his releases continue to get raves from Hawtin to Claude von Stroke to Karotte. In the first months of 2008 he will release six separate remixes (including a person favourite, Straitjacket by the Catz) and his international touring profile will expand to include Italy, Bucharest, Spain and Vancouver alongside his two residencies in Essen and Cologne and regular slots in London and Berlin.

TOM DAZING. The fans of his Belgian wonderkid include Hawtin, Wink, Zabiela, Marco Bailey, Ambivalent, Ananda, Seth Troxler, Eulberg, Skoozbot and RedHead, and he's released on labels from ToysforBoys to MB Selektions to Coincidence as well as upcoming tracks on veryverywrongindeed recordings and Heimatmelodie. The tracks are bumping minimal techno with an influence of Chicago and acidhouse, and the live set blends oldskool drum elements into a subtle environment of new slinky grooves and all-out raving madness...

SPEKTRE. A mutual love of underground techno and electronic experimentation bought this pair together in the studio, with initial inspiration stemming from early R&S, Joey Beltram and Westbam right through to modern day luminaries M.A.N.D.Y, Booka Shade and Trentemoller. The live show is a four-handed of decks, FX and abelton and the tracks - on labels from Dance Electric to Leftroom - are a crash course in dark, stripped back sound.

SHANE WATCHA. Since humble beginnings in his home town of Durban, Shane has gone on to be a regular at London top clubs, playing Glastonbury to warehouse raves in East London. The past year has seen Shane play DC10 opening party for CIRCO LOCO, at which he guests regularly, as well as the main stage at the TDK festival alongside Sasha, BookaShade, Loco Dice & Nathan Fake. He's also host of London afterhours ZOMBIES ATE MY BRAIN. All in all, not a bad result for someone who started DJing at 20 in that tiny club in South Africa. As DJ mag said, "there is something cool and cultish about Shane’s ability to switch from mild mannered human into rabid techno, minimal house fiend!”

RICHARD SEELEY. The first artist to release on veryverywrongindeed recordings - and the first label licence as well, with his track Juicy Vermin signed to the upcoming Ellen Alien Boogy Bytes comp. Described by IDJ as "not techno, not minimal - seriously freaky shit", Richard is a regular warmup at the veryverywrongindeed nights at the Key and around the UK.

ADRIAN MARTIN. He spent the most of the late 90s in warehouses and raves, but by the early 2000s he was making his own minimal. His first track made it onto a Roger Sanchez compilation and from there into a sideline career in remixing. Now with two tracks due on veryverywrongindeed and a long-standing residency at Basel's brilliant Pazzoide night, Adrian Martin is starting to be seen right across Europe...

JOSH TWEEK. When Tim Sheridan hears one of your tracks and signs it on the spot - not to mention offering you a residency - you know you're onto a good thing. Josh Tweek dropped his fine arts degree and leapt onto the Leeds club circuit, co-founding twisted clubnight Louche and sharing the booth with heavyweights like Paco Osuna, Ryan Crosson and Paul Ritch (and his trusty Roland SP404 sampler). Now his productions marry tripped-out synths with melodic textures and sharp percussive stabs, creating peaktime breakdowns with a refined, instinctive groove. And under the alias Soot he will release a set of more experimental, sparse sounds later this year.

GRIM EP - Tim Sheridan v Spektre

Afterhours tracks - with vocals?

Rough and raw, weird, bleepy, hypnotic and wrong - the veryverywrongindeed label is afterhours music hand-selected by Mixmag’s “chief king of weirdness” Tim Sheridan. Too lo-fi for the minimal crew, too late-night for the mainstream - but just right for the DJs already raving about the label - from Jeff Samuel to Mike Monday, the Italoboyz to Mathias Schaffhäuser of WARE...

And now Tim Sheridan, working with northern minimal wonderkids Spektre, releases his first collaborations for the label - vinyl out Jan 08.

Faith versus Tim Sheridan

Registration may be required, but it's worth it...

This piece originated as a light gentlemanly online challenge to the Faith Boarders for topics for Tim to write about at Terry's request as he had blank canvas syndrome at the time and was "scared shitless of moody, sarky Faith Boarders". Here is the full unedited Q & A session ;

Being faithful to the cause but obviously not yet earning my full Faith stripes ; as requested by boarders, recklessly and without the advice of my crack (smokin’) team of feral lawyers or indeed a safety device of any kind... here is some words as suggested by the mob of ne’er-do-wells and misfits that “associate” on this “space”.

Don’t take my apparently carefree use of punctuation for sarcasm. Real men don’t need it. But without the aid of a steely gaze or wry turn of the lip it’ll have to do. Take it or leave it. I am many things, some are good but many are bad. Like, I have discovered, being easily hated, like all righteous fuckers rightly are. But I am honest. Which duly annoys the fuck out of everyone I’ve ever got to know for a sustained period.

The full, unedited text of the Tim Sheridan interview in Faith (note: includes "sarky Faith boarders" in full historic flashback mode).

Intensivstation ("Emergency Room") EP- Andre Crom

After a four-star first release, the underground railway continues ... Andre Crom's debut EP "Notaufnahme" with Tigerskin on Liebe*Detail was a sensation played by Magda, Troy Pierce, Roman Flügel, Steve Bug and Luciano, as were the followup EPs on Ellen Allien's label Memo Records, Leftroom and Berlins legendary Sender Records.

On his VVWI EP the soon-to-be Berlin resident delivers two deadly doses of bleepy and sequenced dancefloor mayhem. It's no coincidence that the name of the a-side "Intensivstation" is the german term for emergency room.

A fragrant ibiza breeze in the uncivilised and rotting corners of London

<large>
we most humbly entreat your kind attention

for we are collectively overwhelmed to announce

A VERYVERYWRONGINDEED WAREHOUSE PARTY

to infuse a gentle and fragrant Ibizia breeze throughout the

frankly uncivilised and rotting corners of London...
<large>

(not recommended for those of a patriotic or sensitive disposition)

A warehouse? Well, how long would one expect veryverywrongindeed to remain locked down in clubs? It started as a free beach party in Ibiza, via nastydirtysexmusic and part of the sinister organiser's longstanding mischevious desire to doing everything under the cultural radar. So fucking all that off, VVWI has been at Ministry and Turnmills - once both on the same night - and it's well-known as the night that turned Ministry around when it was terminally uncool. It's toured DC10, Canada, Ireland, Switzerland, more free beach parties, and at one point ran simultaneously on Sundays across London, Leeds, Bristol, Manchester and Brighton. It's even inspired a new label of "afterhours music", veryverywrongindeed recordings - too weird for the minimalists but way too late-night for the mainstream, and described by IDJ as "really freaky shit".

As Metro put it, "VVWI's ethics and twisted take on techno has inspired a younger generation to reinvigorate acid house's renegade spirit". And as Danny Tenaglia said, "It was only yesterday I did 3 back to back interviews for the UK re Ibiza and someone asked me who made the most impact on me - and I said :) Tim Sheridan".

SAT DECEMBER 1.
(Holy shit)

Metro - "VVWI's ethics and twisted take on techno has inspired a younger generation to reinvigorate acid house's renegade spirit."

Gavin Herlihy, Mixmag -"From its anarchic beginnings in ibiza in 2005, VVWI led the wave that swept UK clubland in 2006. Out went self important DJs and heard it all before music, in came daftness, bizarre fancy dress and a taste for tache wearing and wonky music lead by chief king of weirdness Tim Sheridan. THE afterhours. Never been the same since."

Ralph Lawson - "Veryverywrongindeed is one of the very best nights I have ever played at The Key. Electric in music and atmosphere. Respects!"

Mr. C - This is the electro/minimal/trance/house that crosses all boundaries. 9/10. I'd sign these to Superfreq.

Adam Carter, Hyperactive Promotions - " I already know however that your material is head and shoulders above the others.... incredible tracks. Could be one of the best releases of the year, without a doubt... its that good!"

Mixmag - No 1 in The UK's Favourite Afterparties. "Tim Sheridan is the High Priest of Wrong. A DJ with a taste for the unsettling and the dark."

The Guardian Guide - "Balearic Pioneer Tim Sheridan brings a slice of Ibiza in blistering 3 hour sets".

Time Out - "Simply awesome (and diverse) line ups".

DJ Mag - "Another side to Tim that impresses is his raving socialism, in both senses of the word."

Tim Sheridan

From a long background of warehouses, free beach parties in Ibiza, raves at DC10 and across Europe and the UK, Veryverywrongindeed and its record label Veryverywrongindeed Recordings are the end result of decades of work from of one of the UK's underground heroes, Tim Sheridan. With rave review support from artists from Dan Ghenacia to Sebo K, Laurent Garnier to Arnaud Rebotini, the Veryverywrongindeed label was called "really freaky shit" and "one to watch" by IDJ and its London warehouse parties were described by DJ mag as "deliciously sideways".

Sheridan, meanwhile, has a DJ career spanning 24 years, musically always a few steps further than any other fucker. From founder of KISS FM in the north to being the man who made Ministry cool again with his night Nastydirtysexmusic and best-selling compilation of the same name. He was playing minimal and techno in Ibiza when 99% of DJs were playing bongos, flamenco and sunshine.

His stable of VVWI artists stretches from Andre Crom to dub KULT to Johnny Arthur to up-and-coming types like Zigmund Slezak, Josh Tweek, and of course UK wonderkids Spektre - who will releasing their debut album, Spektre LIVE!, on Veryverywrongindeed just a few weeks before as well as playing at Glade itself with Mr C, Mike Monday and Sheridan.

What's Veryverywrongindeed? We'll leave it to Sheridan himself to explain, as he did in this posting to the ubercool Faith newsgroup earlier this month: "I called my last thing NASTYDIRTYSEXMUSIC simply to knock up an imaginary genre specifically to avoid being pigeonholed. It kind of worked although those who tried to copy it since have got it dead wrong. So it had to end. Same goes for VERYVERYWRONGINDEED. Does what it says on the tin. I could have gone for 'ALLMYFAVOURITETUNESTHATYOURNOT SUPPOSEDTOPLAYINIBIZA' or 'WONKYWEIRDORECORDSTHATCONFUSETHEFUCKOUT OFYOUSOBERNEVERMINDONKETAMINE' but you have to be descriptive AND snappy".
